A Goal Worth Defending

The World Cup may be over, but hope is still winning…because of YOU.

When Kansas City welcomed the FIFA World Cup, millions gathered to celebrate the world’s game. Behind the excitement, however, another team was preparing for something most people would never see — the increase of human trafficking and sexual exploitation that accompanies events of this scale.

Months before the first match, ReHope and our WARS Council partners asked one simple question:

“If she says yes to freedom today…are we ready?”

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, churches, businesses, community partners, and YOU, the answer was yes.

Volunteers packed Fresh Start Bags. Churches prepared meals. Community partners coordinated resources. Staff trained, planned, and stood ready around the clock. Every act of generosity had one purpose: ensuring that if a survivor reached out for help, someone would be there to answer.

And when those calls came, we were ready.

During five weeks of coordinated response, together with our WARS Council partners, we provided safety, hope, and a pathway toward healing for survivors across the Kansas City region.

Your Impact During the World Cup Response

Every number represents a life touched, a story changed, and hope restored.

Yet, the greatest impact cannot be measured by numbers.

One woman entered ReHope after connecting with an Exodus Cry outreach volunteer. Another found help because someone who had previously received outreach materials shared ReHope’s information with her. Hope wasn’t just being offered — it was being shared from one survivor to another.

Volunteers traveled from across the country to serve alongside local churches, businesses, and community members. Together, with our WARS Council partners, they demonstrated what is possible when a community chooses to stand in the gap for survivors.

The World Cup may be over, but the need has not ended.

Every week, women continue to call seeking safety. Survivors continue to need emergency shelter, trauma-informed care, transportation, meals, counseling, case management, and a pathway toward lasting restoration. The work that was strengthened during the World Cup now continues every day as ReHope prepares to expand into a larger Crisis Stabilization home, allowing us to serve even more survivors.

Help Us Stay Ready

The next survivor won’t wait for another international event.

She may call today. She may call tomorrow.

Your unrestricted gift provides the flexibility to respond wherever the need is greatest — from offering immediate safety in our Crisis Stabilization House to supporting long-term healing at ReHope Farms and helping families build a new beginning in our Tiny Home Community. It also helps provide meals, meet urgent medical needs, deliver trauma-informed care, and ensure someone is always there to answer the next call for help.

When the next woman says yes to freedom, your support helps ensure ReHope is ready to answer her call.

THANK YOU for standing with survivors and helping ensure that every woman has the opportunity to begin again.

Together, we are ensuring every survivor has a place to call home.
